  • I can’t thank you enough

February 24 – Today I announced that I will not seek reelection to the United States Congress. As one of my strongest supporters, and as a dear friend, I want to thank you for your help, trust, and friendship over the years. The people of Southeast Michigan have given me their votes to serve them in Washington for many years. This honor is one I have never taken lightly. There is no greater privilege than a life spent in service, and I have worked to do my best for the people who live here – you, my neighbors, friends, and members of my community. We’ve won more battles than we’ve lost, and we’ve taken our lumps, but we’ve emerged battered, bruised, but never defeated.

January 31 – Elected officials, Ann Arbor business owners, and staff members at Zingerman’s Deli met Thursday afternoon inside at the deli’s 422 Detroit Ave. location – for what was dubbed a #SandwichSummit – to discuss efforts to increase the state and federal minimum wage. U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Dearborn, State Rep. Adam Zemke, D-Ann Arbor, and State Rep. Jeff Irwin, D-Ann Arbor chose to meet at Zingerman’s following a recent trip by co-owner Paul Saginaw to Washington D.C., as he lobbied with business owners across the country for a $10.10 minimum wage.
