DINGELL IS 4 OUT OF 4 WITH NEWSPAPER ENDORSEMENTS

Monroe Evening News Endorses Dingell

Dearborn, MI – This morning, the Monroe Evening News endorsed John Dingell for Michigan’s 15th Congressional District.  Following on the endorsements of the Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, and Toledo Blade, the Monroe Evening News stated that “John Dingell remains, without question, the far better choice for 15th District voters.”

Earlier this month, the Detroit Free Press endorsed Dingell, declaring that “Michigan still needs the clout that John Dingell can bring to an issue in Washington.”  The Detroit News earlier stated about John Dingell that, “Michigan can’t afford to lose his reasonable voice.”

The Monroe Evening News today went on, stating that Dingell has been a “champion of federal incentives to business and industry” and that Dingell has “stood for principle over party.”

Today’s endorsement from the Monroe Evenings News comes on the heels of Dingell’s successful debate against his Republican opponent earlier this week in Monroe.  At the debate, Dingell spoke of how he has delivered for Michigan’s working families and vowed to protect Social Security and Medicare from those who want to turn the programs over to Wall Street and big insurance companies, like Dingell’s Republican opponent.  Said Dingell of his opponent’s plan to add $700 billion to the federal deficit by giving tax cuts to the wealthiest 2% of Americans: “This is a Republican war on the middle class.”  The Monroe Evenings News today suggested that Dingell’s opponent, a cardiologist, “should stick with that for now.”

On November 2, John Dingell will be re-elected to Michigan’s 15th Congressional District because Dingell Delivers for Michigan.  John Dingell has never and will never stop fighting for the people he serves.
