Support H.R. 3962
Health care for all Americans
has been the cause of my political life. Since 1957, I have followed in my
father’s footsteps and introduced a bill at the start of each Congress to
provide every American with quality and affordable health care. On October 29,
2009, I had the honor of introducing H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America
Act. This bill, which is so desperately needed, will ensure that
97 percent of Americans will be covered by a health care plan that is
affordable and offers quality, standard benefits by 2019.
Like President Roosevelt before him, Barack Obama faces a long list of
challenges, but this president has already shown signs that he will be a great
one. This long anticipated bill will help strengthen and reform our
crippled health care system by decreasing costs and increasing choices, giving
all Americans access to quality, affordable health care. This is
necessary both as a moral imperative but to boost our economic recovery and the
long-term fiscal health of our nation.
We still have a long way to go until this bill is signed into law. I am honored
to be the lead author and sponsor of H.R. 3962 and I assure you that I will
fight with all that I have to ensure that the America’s Affordable Health
Choices Act is signed into law so that my father’s and so many other Americans’
dream becomes a reality.
